GOODWILL IS ON THE MOVE
GOODWILL IS ON THE MOVE
Making Strides to Better Serve the Flint Community as A Whole
Goodwill is moving to the Genesee Valley Center area, behind David's Bridal. The grand opening is slated for Saturday, May 14th at 9:00 am.
Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan has been a well-known face in the Flint Community for 80 years. Every time a new opportunity presents itself, Goodwill is faced with being sensitive to the impact it will have on the Flint Community. For several years Goodwill has had support from the Flint Township/Swartz Creek residents at our donation sites and yet their only shopping opportunities are in Burton. All this changes May 14th when Goodwill opens a retail store at 4340A Miller Road, which will replace the 3525 S. Saginaw location, scheduled to close on May 12. The same residents who have supported Goodwill via donations will have the opportunity to shop at a Goodwill store that is right in their neighborhood.
Goodwill couldn't ask for a better location. The store is located right outside Genesee Valley Center, has ample parking and the donation site is easy to access. Store and donation center hours will be Monday – Saturday 9 am - 9 pm and Sunday 11 am - 7 pm.
"While it's unfortunate we've reached the end of our lease on S. Saginaw and need to make a change, we know the new location will help us to better serve the entire Flint community, which ultimately will increase our ability to fully achieve our mission." said Angella Thompson, V.P. of Retail Operations/Director of Marketing. "Shopping at Goodwill is an investment in your community because your purchase provides vital job training programs for those who need it most," says Ms. Thompson.
When someone is having a hard time finding a job, either because of a disability, lack of education or work experience, Goodwill Industries is there to help.
